Job Overview

We are in search of a proficient Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will take charge of designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems and equipment for industrial automation initiatives. Collaboration with project managers, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers will be essential to ensure effective integration of control systems into comprehensive project strategies. This role demands a robust understanding of control theory alongside the capability to program, test, and troubleshoot control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems tailored for industrial automation projects.
  • Create and implement control algorithms and software for PLCs, HMIs, and various control apparatus.
  • Conduct system testing, integration, and commissioning processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including control system design documents, functional specifications, and user manuals.
  • Offer technical support to project teams, focusing on troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Engage in design reviews, risk assessments, and project meetings.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in industrial automation and control systems.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in controls engineering, ideally within an industrial automation context.
  • In-depth knowledge of control theory and hands-on experience with programming PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including ladder logic.
  • Understanding of industrial control system hardware and software.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with battery technology is a plus.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi PLCs.
Work Schedule
  • The standard work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential evening meetings as required.
