Job Overview

GU Energy Labs, a prominent family-owned global leader in sports nutrition, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to enhance our Production team.

This role involves diagnosing equipment issues and executing necessary repairs and adjustments. Candidates should possess experience with horizontal form seal pouching lines or comparable food production machinery. Responsibilities include ensuring the machinery and mechanical equipment operate at peak efficiency by completing maintenance work orders, responding to maintenance requests, and performing routine equipment upkeep. The Production Maintenance Technician will inspect machinery for optimal performance and carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.

This position operates on a swing shift schedule, from 2 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend and overtime commitments.

You will thrive in this role by:

  • Executing preventive maintenance work orders on equipment by adhering to diagrams, sketches, operational manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
  • Managing equipment, parts, and supply inventories by notifying the Maintenance Manager of utilized or required parts.
  • Documenting and communicating maintenance actions.
  • Upholding a safe and organized work environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributing to team objectives and demonstrating accountability and initiative by efficiently completing job assignments and requests.
  • Observing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

We are eager to meet candidates who possess:

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Over 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting (diagnostics, problem-solving, etc.).
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to read equipment manuals and apply knowledge for repairs.
  • Experience with basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems (gearboxes, chains, sprockets, motors, bearings, etc.).
  • Knowledge of electronics (level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).
  • Experience with pumps (seals/motors, understanding specifications, etc.).
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (SOPs, safety, national standards such as lock-out/tag-out).
  • Experience in food manufacturing or packaging equipment.
