Human Resources Generalist Job Description

Ethos Veterinary Health LLC is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing guidance on company policies and procedures, maintaining knowledge of federal and state employment laws, and managing employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on company policies and procedures to employees and management
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements
  • Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions and workplace investigations
  • Monitor employee morale and company culture
  • Develop and maintain talent management processes
  • Collaborate with the broader company HR team to develop effective recruitment strategies
  • Administer new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Assist with open enrollments and benefits-related inquiries
  • Conduct and analyze exit interview data to determine trends in the hospital
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies
  • Maintain employee files
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
  • Broad knowledge in state and federal employment regulations
  • Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance
  • Understanding of employee and compliance records management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work independently or within a team

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years employee relations experience
  • 2-5 years recruiting experience
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
