Faculty Human Resources Coordinator

The University of North Carolina Asheville is seeking a highly skilled Faculty Human Resources Coordinator to provide critical support to areas within the Academic Affairs division. This position will work closely with the University office of Human Resources to successfully provide HR support to the division of Academic Affairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support for faculty employment processes, including serving as the primary institutional office for faculty related classification, compensation, and talent acquisition.
  • Support over 200 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty, including detailed-oriented work on faculty personnel records, job postings, payroll, data entry, and reporting.
  • Oversee and maintain institutional policies and processes for faculty, adjunct, and emeritus appointments, including position classification and coding.
  • Coordinate reappointment, tenure, and promotion processes, ensuring compliance with institutional standards, personnel policies, and legislation.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of human resources experience, preferably in higher education, with faculty HR administration.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and handle sensitive or confidential information discreetly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps, with experience with Banner or other HRIS systems preferred.
