About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Controller Southeast US to join our Finance team at Kuehne+Nagel. As a strategic business partner to the Southeast US Area leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the Southeast US Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage working capital, ensuring compliance with Kuehne + Nagel's financial guidelines, and drive governance across the Southeast US organization.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality financial reporting, including revenue recognition, while overseeing the forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with business units, sales, and branches to prepare business cases for credit limit decisions and manage the Business Investment Applications (BIA) process.
  • Coordinate the resolution of A/R disputes and participate in customer calls to ensure effective financial management.
  • Provide financial training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen the financial acumen within the Southeast US organization.
  • Foster a strong governance framework and ensure adherence to financial policies and best practices within the region.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred) with 7+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in finance roles and leading teams/projects.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills, with experience working at senior management levels in a global environment.
  • Proven operational and business expertise in Freight Forwarding and Logistics, with the ability to assess business requirements and financial/legal risks.
  • Excellent business acumen and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to challenges.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to provide detailed insights and summaries to senior management.
  • Hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining high standards of confidentiality.
