WSP is excited to announce an opportunity for a Lead Water Resources Consultant.


Join our dynamic Water Team and contribute to impactful projects that address our clients' needs and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, specializing in Water Resources or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • 10 to 12 years of pertinent post-education experience in water resources engineering.
  • Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas; CFM certification is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support municipal drainage systems, water infrastructure, and climate resilience projects.
  • Proficient in surface water analysis and hydrologic methodologies/models (e.g., TR-55, HEC-HMS), hydraulic models (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS-2D), and ESRI ArcGIS software.
  • Understand stormwater and flood protection infrastructure design standards and regulations applicable to the Houston/Harris County area.
  • Conduct fieldwork and data collection for watershed studies and stormwater infrastructure related to roadway projects, ensuring sustainable and resilient surface water designs.
  • Apply knowledge of water resource engineering principles, practices, and environmental permitting to project-related issues.
  • Expertise in Stormwater Management, Drainage, Erosion and Sediment Control, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, and Floodplain Analysis/Delineation.
  • Manage budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards effectively.
  • Lead and coordinate meetings, deliver engaging client presentations, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborate across WSP offices to enhance client relationships and identify business development opportunities.
