Our manufacturing facilities in NC are responsible for producing innovative treatments for diabetes and obesity. As a Packaging Technical Support Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience.

The Program

Our internship program is designed to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of our operations. For ten weeks, you will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work.

Our program includes instructor-led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and insightful lunch and learns. You will have the opportunity to learn from Subject Matter Experts and apply your knowledge in a real-world setting.

Scope of Position

The Packaging Technical Support Internship will focus on the day-to-day observation of the Packaging process. You will collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

You will also be responsible for identifying gaps in the processes and offering initial thoughts for solutions, with the option to implement these solutions yourself.

Accountabilities

As a Packaging Technical Support Intern, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research, gathering, and analyzing data, preparing and/or reviewing documents, reports, and/or presentations
  • Learning and supporting relevant processes, standards, and policies
  • Learning the practical application of cLEAN (LEAN) practices in a manufacturing context, including participating in and assisting with systematic problem-solving
  • Working with, observing, assisting, and/or collaborating with and learning from Subject Matter Experts
  • Applying and adhering to all Standard Operating Processes (SOPs), policies, and environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Supporting and learning processes, activities, relevant standards as assigned
  • Meeting and networking with other interns
  • Participating in team meetings
  • Completing assigned trainings
Qualifications

To be eligible for this internship, you must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. You should have a strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

You should be a conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail. You should be able to balance multiple projects and priorities, and have the ability to multi-task.

You should also have strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills, and be able to effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers.
