The Department

Our department is responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. We operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, with our newest Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC, featuring state-of-the-art equipment and a global network of manufacturing professionals passionate about their work.

The Internship Program

As a Reliability Engineer Intern at Novo Nordisk, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on experience. For ten weeks, you will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our internship program includes instructor-led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and insightful lunch and learns.

Scope of the Position

The Reliability Engineer Intern will work on developing workflows and Standard Operating Procedures for the maintenance process. You will work with the team to understand the Computerized Maintenance Management System, SAP, and Excel to pull maintenance data and create Key Performance Indicators and trackers to present to the team and management. Additionally, you will work on populating the SAP Material Management system with images of spare parts in the technical warehouse to assist maintenance personnel in identifying the materials needed for completing work orders.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical, biomedical, biochemical, or industrial systems engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
