Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Instructor to join our team at Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District. As a Recreation Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and leading outdoor recreation programs, classes, workshops, or trips.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Plan and implement outdoor recreation programs, classes, workshops, or trips that meet the needs and interests of our community.
  • Class Instruction and Leadership: Lead and instruct participants in various outdoor activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Establish and communicate safety rules, enforce safety protocols, and administer basic first aid as needed.
  • Equipment and Resource Management: Organize and set up tools and equipment used in recreational activities.
  • Participant Supervision and Support: Maintain close supervision and maximize safety of staff and participants at all times.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective relationships with participants, staff, and community members.
Requirements
  • Age and Experience: Must be at least 18 years old and have significant experience in a related area of activity.
  • Certifications and Training: Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, as well as certifications in the recreation area as needed.
  • Background Check and Driver's License: Must pass a criminal background check and possess a valid driver's license.
