Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Recreation Assistant to join our team at Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining facilities, and supporting various programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operations of facilities, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling use of facilities and fields.
  • Oversee the safe operation of equipment and provide guidance to participants and volunteers.
  • Offer back-up supervision of classes in case of instructor illness or emergency.
  • Maintain facility inventory and ensure compliance with work and rental schedules.
  • Greet customers and ensure they understand facility rules and regulations.
  • Perform basic custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, and refilling supplies.
  • Ensure building equipment functions properly and notify management of any issues.
  • Perform basic computer tasks and maintain regular attendance.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling and facility issues and contribute to staff meetings.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in customer service or custodial work preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment

This is a non-smoking workplace, and work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. The physical demands of this job include standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and performing maintenance duties.
