About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineering Leader to join our team at Kleinfelder. As a key member of our Geotechnical Services group, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in geotechnical engineering design, construction support, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate services with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality geotechnical engineering solutions.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering design, construction support, and project management with integrity and a drive to succeed.
  • Ensure high client service by providing constructible designs, responsiveness to client needs, and meeting deadlines.
  • Lead diverse project teams and provide guidance on geotechnical exploration programs, including laboratory testing and site characterization.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork for a wide range of projects.
  • Support project managers in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to clients and technical review boards.
  • Supervise field observation, testing, and perform site visits.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Licensed geotechnical engineer or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Proven experience in geotechnical levee design, seepage analysis, and slope stability of embankments.
  • Proven experience in design of shallow, mat, and deep foundations, and design of retaining walls.
  • Proven experience providing construction support as geotechnical engineer of record.
  • Proven experience being a trusted advisor to clients of all sizes.
  • Proven experience assisting clients from design through construction.
  • Proven experience leading diverse project teams.
  • Proven experience capturing business development opportunities, preparing proposals, and/or leading technical aspects of large pursuits.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Recognized leader in the field of geotechnical engineering.
  • Ability to develop highly motivated individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and managing geotechnical exploration programs.
  • Experience guiding staff engineers in performing material and site characterization, foundation recommendations, slope stability, and settlement analyses.
  • Experience preparing geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications for foundations and earthwork.
  • Experience supporting project managers in budget management, client updates, and general project management tasks.
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical presentations to clients and technical review boards.
  • Experience supervising field observation, testing, and performing site visits.
