We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Staff Field Engineer to join our team at ENGEO Incorporated. As a key member of our geotechnical engineering team, you will be responsible for performing field geotechnical engineering observation work for our projects, working under the guidance of industry-leading geotechnical engineers and geologists.
Key Responsibilities- Field Observation Work: Perform field geotechnical engineering observation work for ENGEO projects, including exploratory logging, deep foundation construction, shoring installations, ground improvement, grading operations, and more.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, city inspectors, project managers, and other internal team members.
- Analytical and Administrative Responsibilities: Perform well-defined analytical and project administrative responsibilities with direction and encouragement from project management.
- Sample Transportation: Transport and deliver samples for laboratory testing as needed.
- Documentation and GIS: Use GIS technology and smartphone/tablet to create accurate and detailed documentation during the testing and observation process.
- Professional Development: Learn increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from experienced engineers and geologists.
- Education: B.S. degree in Civil, Geological Engineering, or Mining Engineering (required).
- Physical Demands: Comfortable spending majority of work hours outdoors at project sites.
- Transportation: Personal vehicle for driving onto jobsites.
- Teamwork and Adaptability: Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work and succeed as part of a team, while being resourceful when working alone in the field.
- Availability: Available to work overtime.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Professional Experience: 1-3 years of professional/relevant internship/field experience.
- Education and Training: Desire to pursue a Master's in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics.
- Attitude and Skills: Positive attitude with a desire to continually learn and grow.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Client Service: Driven to go above and beyond in client service.
