Position Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering and design processes for construction documentation related to various projects.

Key Responsibilities:


• Create electrical specifications for components such as generators, motors, power transformers, and circuit breakers, with guidance from senior engineers as needed.
• Produce detailed drawings for new installations or modifications to existing power distribution systems, including one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts.
• Review and verify engineering packages to ensure precision and quality standards are met.
• Assist in formulating construction scopes of work and project execution plans.
• Collect data from electrical systems and conduct field assessments to support both new and existing power system projects independently.
• Size electrical components, including cables, trays, and conduits.
• Support the preparation of technical evaluations for bids and coordinate the design of electrical heat trace systems.
• Apply hazardous area classification methodologies, determining classified zones and equipment requirements.
• Conduct electrical system modeling using software tools such as ETAP and SKM, utilizing field and manufacturer data to create accurate models.
• Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:


• A Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in a relevant technical discipline from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in industrial, petrochemical, chemical, or utility sectors, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to fulfill the essential job functions.

Required Experience:

• Proficiency with medium and low voltage power distribution equipment (including switchgear, transformers, and MCCs).
• Experience in developing drawings for new or modified power distribution systems, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Skills in sizing electrical equipment, cables, trays, and conduits.
• Familiarity with hazardous area classification methodologies and the implementation of protection settings.

Preferred Knowledge:
• Reviewing and validating engineering packages for accuracy and quality.
• Developing scopes of work for construction and front-end engineering design.
• Gathering data from electrical systems and conducting field evaluations.
• Preparing technical evaluations for bids and understanding electrical heat trace systems.
• Performing electrical system modeling using ETAP, SKM, etc., with the ability to build models from field and manufacturer data.

Essential Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Technical Proficiency:
• Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF editing software.

Licensure/Certification:
• A valid driver's license in accordance with state regulations.
• Registration as an Engineer Intern (E.I.) is preferred.
• TWIC card or the ability to obtain one.

Physical Requirements:


• Capability to walk up to one mile on industrial sites throughout the year.
• Ability to work in protective clothing that may increase body temperature for short durations.
• Proficiency in using multi-level stair towers and ladders without assistance.
• Ability to hear safety alarms while wearing hearing protection.
• Capability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
• Physical ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate effectively.
• Visual acuity to distinguish colors and perform tasks safely.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 15 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
