The Reliability Engineer plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders, including MES Specialists and Technicians, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enhance various reliability programs, including:
    • Development and execution of Vibration Programs
    • Conducting Root Cause Analysis and Bad Actor Consultations
    • Performing Motion Amplification Video Studies
    • Executing Operating Deflection Shapes (ODS) Studies
    • Collecting dynamic pressure data from both positive displacement and centrifugal machinery
    • Carrying out Acoustical Induced Vibration (AIV) and Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) studies
    • Monitoring transient, periodic, or random vibrations, including continuous assessments
    • Studying structural or piping systems, including vessels and heat exchangers
    • Conducting pulsation studies on reciprocating compressors
    • Performing harmonic and resonance analyses, including natural frequency determination
    • Determining operating exclusion zones
    • Investigating vortex shedding, flow turbulence, and cavitation
    • Assessing valve noise and acoustic fatigue
    • Conducting Fluid-elastic Instability studies
    • Designing, installing, and maintaining API 670 Machinery Protection Systems
    • Overseeing alignment processes
    • Evaluating mechanical seals and providing design support
    • Documenting and testing shop processes, including loaded run analysis
    • Conducting motor field tests
    • Utilizing infrared thermography for electrical and mechanical assessments
    • Performing criticality ranking, FMEA, and RCM analyses

Technical Proficiency:

Possess an in-depth understanding of JHC's MES and Emerson's AMS products and services, including but not limited to:

  • AMS 2140, AMS 9420, AMS 9530, AMS Asset Monitor, AMS 6500 ATG, AMS 6500 Prediction, and associated accessories
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AMS Machinery Health Manager (MHM) and PlantWeb OPTICS
  • Familiarity with Machine Studio, Emerson's Process World, and Service Management Systems
  • Understanding of AMS Device Manager

Sensor and System Knowledge:

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of various sensor types, including:

  • Accelerometers, tachometers, eddy current proximity probes, converters/proximitors, thermocouples/RTDs
  • Sensor wiring integrity and industrial routing practices
  • Field settings and voltage checks for proximity probes and converters

Support and Coordination:

Coordinate with MES personnel to manage service contracts and projects, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with clients. Maintain a detailed schedule of upcoming needs and personnel assignments to meet client demands efficiently.
