Nighttime Grocery Operations Supervisor

OBJECTIVE: Demonstrates exceptional customer service across all facets of the role. Oversees and engages in all activities of the night crew; liaises with the Grocery Manager or Store Director, ensures adherence to Company policies, and manages Department orders and stock levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aids the Grocery Manager in steering the grocery department's operations, including overseeing and training night crew personnel. Directs and engages in all night crew tasks to enhance sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction within the grocery department. Reports disciplinary incidents to the Grocery Manager and Store Director. Maintains communication with the Grocery Manager and Store Director regarding night crew functions. Trains and oversees associates in all night crew operations, policies, and procedures. Manages overall store activities during night shifts as directed by the Store Director. Ensures the quality of all products; rotates, stocks, and organizes products, discards expired and spoiled items, and maintains the backroom. Cleans and dusts shelves regularly. Assists in the processes of ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory management, and display construction. Operates necessary equipment such as hand trucks, six-wheel carts, pallet jacks, and ladders. Upholds a safe, secure, and sanitary work environment. Collaborates with the Grocery Manager in planning and organizing regular and seasonal merchandise needs and special sales initiatives. Guarantees cost efficiency, product quality, and inventory accuracy by verifying orders against invoices, auditing product case contents, and accurately completing necessary documentation. Enforces Company and Division operational and merchandising standards. Manages shrinkage. Prevents damage and the sale of unsafe or expired products. Aids in the reclamation process. Fosters an environment of enthusiastic customer engagement with a focus on prompt, friendly, and courteous service. Maintains positive vendor relationships. Adheres to Company loss prevention and security protocols during after-hours operations. Responsible for executing all job functions accurately, safely, and with integrity. Performs additional duties as required.SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must exhibit friendliness and courtesy. Must demonstrate initiative and maintain composure when interacting with customers, co-workers, and vendors, as well as possess the ability to focus and manage interruptions and customer complaints. Ability to collaborate with others and function as part of a team. Capable of working independently without supervision during store closure. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently reaches, lifts, stacks, and maneuvers objects weighing up to approximately 80 lbs., from floor level to overhead. Pushes or pulls fully loaded hand trucks, six-wheel carts, or pallet jacks. May require climbing ladders. Utilizes safety cutters and cleaning supplies. Mental alertness is essential for the safe and accurate completion of work tasks and to perform repetitive tasks accurately. Requires a foundational understanding of basic mathematics, inventory management, storage, merchandising, and shipping and receiving procedures. Mental dexterity and good hand-eye coordination are necessary for safely performing repetitive movements. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. Regular attendance is mandatory. Must be capable of covering various positions throughout the store as needed. Knowledge and ability to implement emergency procedures in case of equipment and software malfunctions. Must adhere to Company policies, including grooming standards and dress code.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Exposure to cleaning chemicals. May occasionally encounter temperatures of 28°F while handling products in a cooler and approximately -20°F in a freezer. Working conditions consist of a temperature-controlled store environment. Exposure to varying temperatures while working in the loading and receiving area. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions with fluctuating temperatures.SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION:
