Nurse Position Overview

Gateway Gastroenterology is seeking a skilled clinical office nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our office and infusion center. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity with a competitive salary range of $66,000 - $75,000.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed by the physician, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report concerns to the physician in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment, adhering to strict sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Manage and update patient records, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Triage and manage patient phone calls, addressing questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and patient referrals, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies and order replacements as needed, optimizing office efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the gastroenterology team to develop and implement patient care plans, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements:
  • Nursing degree from an accredited institution (RN).
  • Current nursing license in Missouri.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Previous experience in a gastroenterology or related medical field, with familiarity with gastroenterological procedures and patient care.
  • Excellent clinical and patient care skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, eClinicalWorks preferred.
Work Environment:

Primarily office-based in an outpatient building with medical equipment, in a collaborative and team-oriented setting.
