Job SummaryThis position is responsible for communicating clinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical office procedures, and maintaining adequate clinical supplies.
Responsibilities- Accurately record patient's medical history and vital signs
- Give patients immunizations and injections as appropriate
- Counsel patients on health-related issues
- Order and maintain clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals
- Coordinate referrals to other medical services
- Secure consultations and specialists
- Triage phone calls and address patient portal messages
- Obtain prior authorization for medications and diagnostic testing
- Assist physician with med/surg procedures
- Observe universal precautions
- Maintain quality assurance for office lab
- Observe proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Coordinate with pharmacies to ensure patients have adequate supplies of medicine
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee
- One year of experience in a medical office environment
- Competent in the use of Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, stethoscope, audio scope, business phone, and various oral and injectable medications
This position is located in an office environment and requires the ability to sit, stand, communicate, and lift over 20 pounds.
