Position Summary

As an Elementary Education Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing a passion for learning among students. Our classrooms are designed to be culturally responsive and engaging, where educators instill core values of respect and diligence while celebrating each student's individuality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instructional Duties

  • Co-create a vibrant classroom atmosphere that promotes mastery and encourages student participation in academic discussions.
  • Deliver foundational mathematics education.
  • Enhance literacy skills through focused reading and writing instruction, covering phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Implement an ELA curriculum centered on meaningful and relevant texts.
  • Teach a Science curriculum that emphasizes geology, astronomy, ecology, and environmental stewardship.
  • Facilitate a Social Studies curriculum that explores America's diverse histories, fostering cultural and civic awareness.

2. Data-Driven Analysis

  • Engage in weekly meetings with leadership to assess student work and identify trends in assessments.
  • Adopt strategies to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.

3. Cultivating School Culture

  • Establish positive relationships with students to ensure they feel valued and understood.
  • Collaborate with families to provide necessary resources that support student learning.
  • Participate in professional development and mentorship opportunities.
  • Support various school activities, including morning arrival, lunch supervision, and student transitions.
  • Engage in weekly meetings to promote community, embody core values, and drive student success.
  • Work with grade-level teams to set academic objectives and refine instructional methods.

  • Required Experience:
    • Interest in making a positive impact on K-12 students in urban settings (1-2 years preferred).
    • Academic background in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields.
    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required prior to employment. Certification is not mandatory at the time of hiring, but candidates must meet state certification eligibility requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
