As an Elementary School Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing a passion for learning among our students. Our classrooms are designed to be culturally responsive and engaging, allowing students to thrive in a supportive atmosphere that values respect and hard work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Instructional Duties

  • Collaborate with fellow educators to create a vibrant classroom that promotes mastery and encourages academic dialogue.
  • Deliver foundational mathematics instruction.
  • Enhance literacy skills through targeted reading and writing instruction, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Implement an engaging English Language Arts curriculum that prioritizes relevant and meaningful texts.
  • Teach a Science curriculum emphasizing essential knowledge of geology, astronomy, ecology, and environmental stewardship.
  • Incorporate diverse historical perspectives in Social Studies to foster cultural and civic awareness.

2. Data-Driven Instruction

  • Engage in weekly meetings with school leadership to analyze student performance and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Utilize differentiated instruction techniques to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

3. Cultivating School Culture

  • Establish positive relationships with students to ensure they feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with families to provide necessary resources for student success.
  • Participate in professional development and mentorship opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
  • Support various school activities, including morning arrival, lunch supervision, and student assemblies.
  • Contribute to weekly school-wide meetings to promote community engagement and student achievement.
  • Work closely with grade-level teams to set academic goals and refine teaching strategies.

  • Self-motivated individual who actively seeks feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Required Experience:
    • Experience working with K-12 students in urban settings (1-2 years preferred).
    • Academic background in Elementary Education, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or related fields.
    • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required prior to employment. Certification is not mandatory at hiring but must be pursued within a reasonable timeframe.
