Supply Chain and Inventory Specialist
Location: Winter Haven, FL

The Supply Chain and Inventory Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing the procurement and oversight of inventory levels essential for the efficient execution of both capital and operational projects across various sites. This position collaborates with a diverse range of suppliers to guarantee that Chesapeake Corporation acquires top-quality materials that align with company standards while keeping a close eye on associated expenses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the procurement of inventory across multiple facilities to ensure sufficient material availability for timely project completion.
  • Engage with a wide array of suppliers to secure high-quality products at competitive prices.
  • Facilitate the development of material bid specifications in partnership with Engineering, Operations, Construction, and other relevant departments.
  • Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including issuing bids, evaluating proposals, and securing necessary approvals.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits and resolve any discrepancies, assisting the Accounting team during periodic counts.
  • Process vendor deliveries in the inventory management system, track backorders, and organize materials in designated locations.
  • Monitor inventory receipt and distribution, ensuring efficient management of all materials in storage facilities.
  • Solicit quotes for vehicle acquisitions as needed, make purchases in accordance with budgetary guidelines, and coordinate vehicle transfers to the Fleet Management team.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in inventory management or procurement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated integrity and analytical capabilities, with a strong ability to make informed decisions while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Skilled in problem identification and resolution, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to foster strong relationships with colleagues, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical, with the potential to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Capability to achieve and maintain Forklift Certification.
