Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the platform development team to gain an in-depth understanding of the platform's architecture and features.
  • Oversee and execute platform testing across diverse operating systems, browser combinations, and device types.
  • Diligently identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing process.
  • Create and implement platform-specific testing strategies.
  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
  • Design and execute test plans and cases to verify software functionality against defined requirements and specifications.
  • Build and maintain automated tests using scripting languages and tools such as Selenium.
  • Conduct various testing activities, including modular, regression, security, and stress testing to evaluate system performance.
  • Utilize existing tools and techniques to run test cases and develop new tools for testing and validation purposes.
  • Assess or generate system requirements and acceptance criteria while documenting detailed defects.
  • Provide constructive feedback to developers regarding automated testing approaches, design corrections, and patches.
  • Offer troubleshooting support to end users and external applications as needed.
  • Develop and execute both automated and manual tests to gather metrics and create artifacts for use by independent verification and validation testers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to formulate and implement a robust testing strategy.
  • Employ integration tests to confirm the implementation of data requirements in line with relevant documentation.
  • Facilitate solution testing in cloud-based lab environments.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience as a Platform Quality Assurance Engineer or in a similar capacity.
  • Proficient in various testing tools, methodologies, and processes related to platform testing.
  • Strong understanding of all platform components, including front-end, back-end, and database systems.
  • Good programming skills, particularly in scripting for automation testing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and bash/sh scripting.
  • Experience in developing test plans, procedures, and maintaining reports.
  • Ability to conduct exploratory testing effectively.
  • Identify, verify, and report defects; perform root cause analysis using application logs and browser developer tools.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience with issue tracking systems like Jira.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Adaptability and ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to devise innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate substantial amounts of information with precision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for interaction with senior executives.
  • Preferred cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python.
  • Familiarity with Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience with Jira or similar tools.

Desired Certifications:

  • Cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CASP, CISSP.
  • Tool certifications like Tenable Security Center Specialist, Tanium Certified Administrator, ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, etc.

Security/Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen and pass a background investigation.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining a DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance.
