We are seeking a proficient Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to deliver practical testing and automation expertise for essential systems.

In this role, you will engage in software development to create scripts, analyze test outcomes, and facilitate feedback mechanisms within a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

Cross-training opportunities are available to also contribute to systems engineering, software development, training, and security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in Agile software development processes (standup meetings, planning sessions, Increment planning) to foster innovation and enhancement of tailored applications through iterative testing

Collaborate with team members to evaluate StoryPoint/complexity efforts (utilizing best practices) to guarantee appropriate testing and delivery of features according to User Story Acceptance Criteria

Work alongside team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to formulate testing strategies with a focus on automating recurring/regression test cases using selected tools

Create test validation scripts utilizing designated programming languages (e.g., Python)

Develop automated test cases leveraging knowledge of custom applications through specified GUI/COTS products (e.g., Selenium and Katalon Studio)

Employ DevOps methodologies to ensure the repeatability and Configuration Management of test cases/scripts are consistently enhanced

Draft and document comprehensive end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management systems (JIRA/Confluence)

Generate test data and identify use/corner cases necessary to fulfill User Story/Customer requirements

Assist in performance testing/evaluation activities using tools such as Jmeter

Execute job responsibilities within Commercial cloud development environments

Basic Qualifications:
Proficient in testing both back-end application processes and front-end interfaces

Extensive experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for task automation

Significant background in test data/script development

Familiarity with or direct experience in software performance testing methodologies

Hands-on experience in creating, authoring, executing, and documenting test cases/result sets for software products in an agile framework

Considerable experience working/testing within Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS) and DevOps tools

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively to execute test cases that complement development efforts

Substantial experience in a SAFe Agile and DevOps development environment

Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)

Candidates must possess a Master's degree with 15 or more years of relevant experience or a PhD with 13 or more years of relevant experience

Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing MS Windows Server or Linux environments (Lab or Personal development space)

Experience in reviewing CI job outputs and capable of tracing test failures back to code changes that resulted in issues

Ability to review code check-ins to understand the impact of code modifications on system functionality and potential application defects.

Direct experience with AWS environments

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,000 - $260,850.00


The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
