CYBERSECURITY PLATFORM QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER
Crystal Management is in search of a driven, career-focused cybersecurity platform quality assurance engineer to support vital cybersecurity initiatives. This role is essential in our efforts to enhance the security and resilience of digital infrastructures.
The mission of our cybersecurity program is to establish a unified platform for the collection, transformation, and integration of cybersecurity data from authoritative sources, delivering actionable insights to enhance risk identification and facilitate coordinated responses to cyber threats.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing candidates to operate from any location within the United States, provided they can align with an eastern time zone schedule.
Key Responsibilities
The Cybersecurity Platform Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring our platforms function at peak performance and adhere to the highest industry standards and client expectations. In this role, you will engage in challenging projects and play a pivotal part in achieving superior quality outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with the platform development team to gain a thorough understanding of the platform's architecture and functionalities.
- Oversee and execute platform testing activities across diverse operating systems, browser configurations, and device types.
- Meticulously identify, document, and track defects.
- Create platform-specific testing strategies.
- Draft, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
- Develop and implement test plans to validate software performance against established requirements and specifications.
- Design and sustain automated tests utilizing scripting tools, Selenium, and other technologies.
- Conduct various testing activities, including modular, regression, security, and stress testing to evaluate system performance.
- Utilize existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and develop new tools for testing and validation functions.
- Assess or generate system requirements and acceptance criteria while documenting detailed defects.
- Provide constructive feedback to developers regarding automated testing strategies, design improvements, and necessary patches.
- Troubleshoot and support end users and external applications as needed.
- Develop and implement both automated and manual tests to gather metrics and create artifacts for government Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) testers.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to formulate and execute a robust testing strategy.
- Utilize integration tests to confirm the implementation of data requirements in accordance with relevant documentation.
- Facilitate solution testing in cloud-based environments.
- Identify, verify, and report defects; perform root cause analysis using application logs and browser developer tools.
Education and Certification
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Preferred certifications in cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Position Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience as a Platform Test Engineer or in a similar capacity.
- Proficiency in various testing tools, methodologies, and processes related to platform testing.
- Strong programming skills, particularly in scripting for automation testing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and bash/sh scripting.
- Experience in developing test plans, procedures, and report generation.
- Ability to perform exploratory testing effectively.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience using the Jira ticketing system for issue resolution coordination.
- Ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative work environments.
- Adaptability and capability to manage tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to devise innovative solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as this role will involve interaction with senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the platform, including front-end, back-end, and database functionalities is a plus.

Clearance Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully pass a background investigation.
- Able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD).
