Position Overview
Securiport LLC is a prominent organization in the United States, located in Reston, VA, that focuses on the development and implementation of advanced biometric recognition systems, immigration processing solutions, and intelligent information management systems. Our mission is to provide comprehensive immigration processing solutions and analytics to enhance border security. Our services encompass technical analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of Securiport's software solutions, along with training and technical assistance for field operations.
In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Product Services and will be accountable for executing the quality assurance lifecycle for Securiport's offerings. You will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle to ensure the quality and functionality of the products delivered to our clients. Collaboration with the QA Team and developers will be essential as you execute the quality assurance lifecycle, and you will play a key role in test design and execution.
This position operates within a hybrid Agile/Waterfall software development framework, with a strong emphasis on Agile methodologies. A proven track record in testing both web and desktop applications is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the development team to test all system components, including the user interface, API, and database, through functional, performance, and regression testing.
- Contribute to, review, and provide insights on requirements/user stories, design documents, end-user, and administrator documentation, as well as other relevant artifacts.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Identify, document, and monitor defects and issues throughout the testing process.
- Provide technical writing for end-user and administrator documentation.
- Implement automation testing to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the software lifecycle.
Qualifications
The following skills are required:
- Extensive experience in quality assurance throughout the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, and delivery.
- Strong understanding of QA tools, methodologies, and processes.
- Proven experience in testing thick-client, web client, and web services software.
- Familiarity with Agile software development environments.
- Experience in creating end-user and administrator documentation.
- Some exposure to test and quality automation at various levels, utilizing tools such as NUnit, SonarQube, Selenium, HP Quality Center, Ranorex, and/or MS Visual Studio Team Services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required) and French (preferred).
The following skills are desired:
- Experience with Confluence, MS Team Foundation Services/Visual Studio Team Services, and REDMINE.
- Some background in programming/script development, particularly in Java or C#.
- Experience with QA practices in commercial cloud architectures (Azure, Amazon AWS).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. Certifications in QA areas are preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance is required.
