Job Summary

MV Transportation is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership and direction to our transportation operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of our annual business plans and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage customer relationships through direct contact and outreach programs.
  • Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff to ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plans and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements.
  • Develop and implement safety and training programs to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Conduct regular departmental audits to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Review and analyze key operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, with exceptions reported and action plans developed to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Implement and promote company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the management team to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Participate in labor and employee relations activities.
  • Provide insight and information to support contract renewals.
  • Create and present location annual budgets.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent business management experience.
  • Management experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive experience in operations management and 7 years of management or supervisory experience in a paratransit environment with knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
  • Labor/union(s) negotiations/expenses expertise.
  • Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
  • MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and high degree of multi-tasking skills.
