Job Description

Overview:

At Spotlock, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey CAD Manager proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads to lead our dynamic surveying team. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of producing accurate and detailed survey maps, surfaces, and boundary analyses while managing junior drafters and ensuring project deliverables meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage DTM surfaces for contour plans using raw data files.
  • Prepare ALTA surveys, boundary analyses, right-of-way maps, and property analysis documents.
  • Generate accurate and detailed survey maps and plans, ensuring proper flipping of triangles and surface reading.
  • Oversee and train junior drafters in the base mapping group, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct QA/QC of deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and coordinate survey projects, providing leadership and technical guidance to the drafting team.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field crews, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
  • Work remotely, maintaining effective communication and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads.
  • Proven ability to manage and oversee a team of drafters and junior technicians.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in generating survey maps and surfaces.
  • Proficient in developing DTM surfaces and conducting thorough boundary analyses.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to train and mentor junior staff.
  • Familiarity with DOT standards (PennDOT and NJDOT) and transportation survey work (train, trolley, tunnel).
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and remotely, if needed.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
