Key Responsibilities:
As a Product Engineer, you will oversee all dimensional specifications and tooling related to the investment casting process. Your responsibilities will encompass both new product development and ongoing production castings. You will collaborate closely with a Process Engineer, who will manage the metallurgical aspects of the operations. Your primary objective will be to design products that maximize yield and minimize costs while ensuring compliance with customer quality standards.
- Adhere to Howmet's safety protocols.
- Manage the design, construction, and implementation of manufacturing tooling.
- Enhance dimensional yields of castings while minimizing production costs.
- Develop manufacturing routing and processing guidelines.
- Design and troubleshoot processes for both production and developmental castings.
- Conduct First Article Inspections to validate parts.
- Pursue continuous improvement initiatives for existing processes.
- Provide technical support to clients and address their technical inquiries.
- Comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills and Competencies:
Applicants should possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and drawings. Effective communication skills are essential for presenting information and responding to inquiries from management and clients. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as the capacity to apply mathematical operations to various tasks.
- Self-motivated with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in investment casting.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and NX CAD.
- Knowledge of Minitab/statistics and strong Excel skills.
- Technical manufacturing experience, particularly in tooling design and dimensional inspection.
