We are seeking to enhance our Commercial division with a Lead Cost Consultant based in our regional office, with opportunities for hybrid working arrangements.


In this role, you will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will be entrusted with the Commercial Oversight of various Projects.


Key responsibilities will include:
  • Executing quantity surveying tasks related to project and work package management.
  • Collaborating with design, construction, and supply chain teams to monitor, evaluate, and manage costs effectively.
  • Engaging with clients to ensure that their business needs are fulfilled.
  • Overseeing the main contract to ensure that all contractual notifications and communications are properly identified and addressed.
  • Preparing and distributing subcontract documentation.
  • Facilitating the procurement process through the preparation and issuance of relevant documents.
  • Assisting in the management and evaluation of subcontractor performance.
  • Overseeing the preparation and agreement of payment applications.
  • Generating project cost and value reports, along with budgets and forecasts.
  • Supporting the development and management of junior commercial personnel.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development by participating in external networking events, conferences, and industry associations to remain informed about industry advancements.
  • Maintaining a constructive and solution-focused approach to work, providing transparent and honest feedback.
  • Performing additional duties, training, and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, consistent with the overall responsibilities of this position.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Progressing towards or holding chartered membership of a recognized institution.
  • Experience in the utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts.

  • Experience in managing and developing a small team or individual.
