About the Opportunity

The Engagement and Partnerships Manager at the Annenberg Institute contributes to the Institute's multi-tiered work to support local schools while advancing high-impact, research-based practice in education. The incumbent manages Brown University's partnerships with Providence Public Schools, other Rhode Island K12 schools, and adjacent education-related youth-serving organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support impactful, reciprocal, and sustainable partnerships at the school- and classroom levels as a member of the Annenberg Institute's local impact team.
  • Cultivate deep relationships with community members in local K12 schools to understand community needs and aspirations and serve as an effective connector to Brown University resources.
  • Manage the Brown Tutoring Corps (BTC), which deploys well-prepared Brown University students to provide high-impact tutoring and academic mentoring in RI K12 schools.
  • Align the BTC with current research on high-impact tutoring in collaboration with the Annenberg Institute team, drive local impact through continuous program improvement, and develop systems for monitoring success and reporting insights applicable throughout RI and beyond.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Education, Public Health, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field, and at least 3-5 years of experience in education-related project management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with constituent relationship management software (such as Salesforce) is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Sustain a project from inception to completion, with the ability to manage details and input from multiple stakeholders.
  • Effectively plans and prioritizes when faced with competing deadlines: remains flexible, takes the initiative, and follows through on strategies and tactics.
  • Demonstrated experience with community engagement and working knowledge of guiding principles for ethical and effective campus-community engagement.
  • Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail: notices and fixes errors that others might overlook.
  • Manages a high volume of work with efficiency: Has, or can create, a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks.
