Ground Operations Customer Service Representative

Join a dedicated team that shares a passion for the aviation industry. At Piedmont Airlines, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our customers and airline partners. We are currently looking for a committed and dependable individual to fill the role of Customer Service Agent within our Ground Handling Department. This position primarily involves assisting passengers during the boarding and disembarking processes, operating the Jetway, overseeing computerized passenger boarding systems, and guiding as well as parking aircraft. The ideal candidate will successfully complete the Customer Service Agent training program, be capable of lifting up to seventy (70) pounds, and be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. This role will report directly to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking flights.
- Oversee computerized passenger boarding systems.
- Provide assistance to customers with special needs, including arranging for wheelchairs and unaccompanied minors.
- Modify customer flight itineraries and seat assignments as necessary.
- Operate the Jetway efficiently.
- Load and unload baggage and cargo.
- Utilize motorized service vehicles and equipment.
- Guide and park aircraft safely.
- Perform maintenance tasks within the cabin.
- Collaborate as a team to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve corporate goals.
- Successful completion of the training program.
- Ability to meet company objectives and customer expectations in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Capacity to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Prior experience in the airline industry.
- Experience in a front-line customer service role.
- Basic understanding of computer applications and software.
- Utilization of computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
- Work in an airport ramp environment, exposed to diverse weather conditions and elevated noise levels.
- Availability for all shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and irregular hours.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing stairs.
- Regularly handle objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Assist passengers with disabilities, including pushing wheelchairs.
Employment is contingent upon possessing a valid driver's license and maintaining a clear driving record, along with a 10-year Criminal History Records Check and drug screening as required. Proof of high school or GED completion is also necessary. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
Our benefits package includes paid training, holiday pay, 401(k), vacation, and family travel on the American Airlines network. Medical and dental insurance options are available.
Compensation:
$15.25 per hour
