Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Financial Records Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial documentation, which includes general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, as well as payroll management. Regular account reconciliations will be conducted to ensure precision and completeness, alongside the oversight of the organization's budget, providing consistent reports on budget performance and discrepancies.

In this capacity, the analyst will support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and presentations for internal departments and relevant committees. Additionally, they will oversee and manage grant funds, ensuring adherence to grant stipulations and reporting standards. The ideal candidate will contribute to the formulation and execution of financial policies and procedures aimed at enhancing internal controls and will collaborate with program managers and other departments to deliver financial insights that aid in decision-making.

The Financial Records Analyst will also assist in the preparation and coordination of the annual audit and tax submissions, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IRS regulations, state mandates, and other regulatory standards applicable to non-profit organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, ideally within a non-profit setting.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with grant management and reporting processes.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification is preferred.
  • A commitment to the mission and values of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time role that includes health, dental, vacation, and 403(b) benefits. The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $75,000 annually.
