Overview:

The Financial Planning Analyst is essential for effective financial management, contributing to the analysis, planning, and strategic decision-making processes within the organization. This role involves scrutinizing financial data, generating reports, and providing insights that support organizational goals and enhance financial performance. The individual may be required to deploy to various locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Data Analysis: Perform comprehensive evaluations of financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, to uncover trends and areas for improvement.
  • Budget Development: Collaborate with department heads to formulate annual budgets and long-term financial strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Financial Modeling: Create and maintain sophisticated financial models to analyze the potential impacts of various business scenarios and investment opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track actual financial outcomes against budgeted figures, investigate discrepancies, and communicate insights to inform strategic adjustments.
  • Cost Management: Evaluate departmental expenses to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of investment opportunities and strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance and drive improvements.
  • Ad-hoc Financial Projects: Undertake special financial analysis projects as requested by senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, contributing to risk management efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in financial analysis tools and software, with strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as necessary.

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data visualization tools for presenting financial information.
  • Familiarity with financial planning and analysis processes.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Clearance:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
