Position Title: Skilled Automotive Sales Consultant

Department: Sales

Reports to: Sales Manager

Position Summary: We are looking for a knowledgeable salesperson to join our team. This role involves selling new or pre-owned vehicles at our dealership by executing various responsibilities. Our leading salesperson achieved remarkable sales last year.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Welcomes customers on the sales floor and identifies their vehicle preferences.
  • Describes features and showcases vehicle operations in the showroom or during test drives.
  • Recommends additional equipment for purchase.
  • Investigates the availability of different models and optional features.
  • Consults with the Sales Manager as needed, ensuring no customer leaves without proper consultation.
  • Collaborates with the Sales Manager to calculate and present sales prices, including taxes, trade-in values, licensing fees, and financing options.
  • Completes all necessary documentation and applications (e.g., sales contracts, credit applications).
  • Delivers vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and related paperwork, fostering customer loyalty.
  • Maintains a system for prospect development.
  • Stays informed about new products, features, and accessories.
  • Participates in scheduled sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Aims to meet or exceed established sales forecasts and targets.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Proficient in applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and handle various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, & Registration:

Must possess a current, valid State Driver's License. A Motor Vehicle Report acceptable to the insurance carrier is required for operating company-owned and/or customer-owned vehicles. A sales license must be obtained or is obtainable.
