Job Overview

Position Summary

The Branch Operations Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the consumer sales and customer service operations, which includes leading and inspiring a sales team that offers a diverse array of financial products. The role is essential in nurturing and enhancing customer relationships through consistent follow-up, thorough customer profiling, and a keen understanding of client needs. This position supervises the daily functions of branch personnel.

As the onsite leader, the Branch Operations Supervisor manages the daily operations of the branch.

Key Responsibilities

1. Directs sales management efforts within the branch to achieve sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction. This involves establishing and reaching sales and fee income objectives, facilitating sales meetings and training sessions, and mentoring staff to promote sales-oriented behavior and teamwork.

2. May engage in personal banking tasks, such as advising clients on all available banking services, opening new accounts, handling teller responsibilities, and processing loan applications while making recommendations for approvals. Plays a role in evaluating and deciding on personal banker loans, and is responsible for managing overdue accounts and charge-offs.

3. Oversees staff performance to meet branch objectives by delegating tasks, ensuring high-quality service delivery, conducting performance evaluations, recommending salary adjustments, and providing necessary training.

4. Actively promotes banking services by reaching out to potential clients and participating in various community and professional engagements.

5. Handles customer service tasks, including responding to inquiries, closing accounts, ordering checks, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

6. Ensures that the branch adheres to all bank policies and regulatory guidelines.

7. Fosters positive collaboration with other departments within the bank.

8. Maintains consistent attendance and is flexible with working hours, including weekends if the branch operates on those days.

9. Undertakes additional duties and projects as assigned.

Required Experience

Previous supervisory experience is essential.

Preferred Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant banking experience is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of personal and business banking products, with a proactive approach to staying informed about changes.
  • Understanding of banking regulations pertinent to the role and familiarity with bank policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in deposit account products and services, ensuring thorough engagement in consumer credit underwriting and loan approval processes.
  • Experience that showcases effective supervisory abilities, particularly in sales and customer service practices.

Required Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
