Position Summary

The Branch Manager II is accountable for overseeing the consumer sales and customer service operations within the branch. This role involves leading and inspiring a sales team that promotes a diverse array of financial products and services. The manager is responsible for nurturing and enhancing customer relationships through proactive engagement, including follow-up communications and thorough assessments of customer needs. The Branch Manager II supervises the daily functions of retail branch staff.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Directs the sales management efforts of the branch to achieve sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction. This includes establishing and meeting sales and fee income objectives, facilitating sales training sessions, and mentoring staff to foster a culture of sales excellence and teamwork.
  2. May engage in personal banking tasks such as advising clients on available banking services, managing account openings, processing teller transactions, and evaluating loan applications for approval. Responsible for monitoring overdue accounts and charge-offs.
  3. Supervises branch personnel to ensure achievement of operational goals. This includes delegating tasks, ensuring high-quality service delivery, conducting performance evaluations, recommending salary adjustments, and providing training opportunities for staff.
  4. Promotes the bank's services by conducting outreach to potential clients and participating in community events and professional networking.
  5. Handles customer service inquiries, including account closures, check orders, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
  6. Ensures the branch adheres to all bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
  7. Facilitates positive interactions between the branch and other departments within the bank.
  8. Maintains consistent attendance and is flexible with work hours, including weekends if necessary.
  9. Completes additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in operating various office equipment and technology.
  • Strong listening skills to effectively address customer needs and make suitable referrals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Experience in training and developing staff.

Experience Requirements

Prior supervisory experience is essential.

Preferred Experience

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant banking experience is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of personal and business banking products, with a proactive approach to staying informed about industry changes.
  • Understanding of banking regulations relevant to the role and familiarity with bank policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in deposit account products and services, ensuring thorough engagement in consumer credit underwriting and loan approval processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise teams with a focus on sales and customer service principles.

Education Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Compensation and Benefits
