The Receptionist will operate autonomously while demonstrating sound judgment and discretion under the guidance of the Director, contributing to a cohesive team environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the office functions smoothly and efficiently, encompassing responsibilities such as managing correspondence, handling mail, overseeing phone communications, and executing front desk duties, which include welcoming and directing visitors to the Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, administration, and the public, facilitating effective communication.
  • Coordinate and monitor Professional Development activities and scheduling as assigned, which includes: entering courses; sending notifications to presenters and faculty; creating participant lists; tracking attendance; and conducting periodic reviews for inactivity.
  • Support the organization and hospitality of events and services within the Center, including managing room bookings and meetings.
  • Assist with promotional activities, marketing events, and special initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member, embodying and promoting the mission of Liberty University.
Qualifications and Skills

A bachelor's degree, prior office experience, proficiency in Office Suite, and familiarity with Higher Education settings are preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

The ability to analyze information, reason intuitively, and apply sound judgment to resolve both routine and complex issues is crucial. Exceptional organizational and computer skills are required. The role may involve occasional lifting of items weighing 10 pounds or less.
