This role includes the formulation of monthly journal entries, conducting thorough monthly and annual analytical reviews of general ledger accounts, and maintaining detailed account analyses. Furthermore, the Senior Financial Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local reporting obligations for all Baptist Health entities, which encompasses the preparation of corporate, partnership, 5500, 990, and 990T returns. This individual will also address inquiries and requests from the IRS and other governmental bodies.
The role involves preparing audit documentation for Baptist Health and its Retirement Plan, as well as providing necessary information to third parties for the completion of audits and tax filings. Additionally, the Senior Financial Officer may undertake special projects as directed by the Vice President of Finance and Financial Accounting leadership. Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
  • Possess a Certified Public Accountant designation or equivalent professional experience.
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience in public accounting or industry.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and spreadsheet management, along with adeptness in using a 10-key calculator.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Engage effectively with personnel across all levels within the organization.
  • Possess skills in training and educating adult learners.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organize tasks efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
  • Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Familiarity with healthcare financial terminology.
  • Exhibit supervisory skills in prioritizing tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost and labor efficiency.
