PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the overall operations and physical conditions of the facility and its equipment, managing daily logistics and warehousing activities.
  • Control operating expenses to remain within annual budgets while contributing to the planning of operational strategies and objectives.
  • Regularly assess team performance by analyzing operational reports that track delivery times, back orders, hours worked, and shipments received to minimize costs and avoid delays.
  • Address issues related to processes, costs, orders, fleet maintenance, inventory management, and services to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Implement safe operating practices in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Manage staff in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, supervising roles such as yard personnel, drivers, dispatchers, and supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management abilities.
  • Independent decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to engage positively and collaboratively with all personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Experience in building materials and inventory management is preferred.
  • Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as necessary to meet operational deadlines.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or four years of related work experience in the lumber or building materials industry.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience in the lumber or building materials sector, with diverse roles across all business phases, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in building materials, procurement, inventory management, distribution efficiency, and team supervision are essential.
