The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is a non-profit organization that operates a network of thrift stores across the country. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to overcome addiction and achieve long-term recovery.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to join our team at our Canoga Park Thrift Store. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, including managing staff, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Store Operations: Plan and direct the day-to-day operations of the store, including managing staff, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Customer Service: Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals.
- Staff Management: Supervise employees in performance of duties to ensure compliance with published directives and guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Ensure that the store is maintained and adequate inventory levels are on hand.
- Loss Prevention: Implement appropriate loss prevention measures to minimize losses and protect company assets.
- Reporting and Compliance: Process paperwork, including time and attendance compliance, and ensure that all reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- Education: High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years previous retail management/supervisory experience.
- Skills: Ability to accurately handle POS/cash register operations and cash transactions, ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
- Certifications: Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to show proof of insurance.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check, which will include a criminal history and sex offender registry check.
- Ability to: Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to: Grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to: Move product up to 50lbs.
- Ability to: Perform various repetitive motion tasks.
