Pastry Sous Chef Job Description

MC Hospitality Group is seeking a skilled Pastry Sous Chef to join our team at Rampoldi in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of cakes, pies, puddings, custards, and desserts according to recipes and standards.
  • Mix, knead, and shape dough to create pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries.
  • Prepare a la carte and special desserts during service hours.
  • Follow instructions and recommendations from immediate superiors to complete daily tasks.
  • Maintain high standards and consistent quality in daily preparation and stay up-to-date with new products, recipes, and techniques.
  • Report for duty punctually and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by superiors.
Requirements:
  • Culinary degree preferred, with 1 year of pastry work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Total understanding of proper pastry methods, techniques, and standards.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
