Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Program Supervisor, the Program Leader II is responsible for delivering services and support to individuals with disabilities. This role involves a range of activities including planning and facilitating opportunities for personal growth and development, engaging directly with individuals to promote participation in various activities, providing instruction, and ensuring the physical comfort and well-being of those served. The Program Leader II may also assist in orienting and training new staff, interns, and volunteers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery:

  • Provide guidance, support, and supervision to individuals in diverse activities and settings.
  • Apply effective teaching strategies consistently when interacting with individuals.
  • Ensure the safety of individuals by adhering to safety protocols in both facility and community activities.
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills including eating, personal hygiene, and dressing.
  • Offer physical assistance as required, including transferring and guiding individuals.
  • Deliver all necessary aspects of service provision as needed.

Program Coordination:

  • Develop and implement Individual Service Plans tailored to the needs and interests of individuals.
  • Plan, facilitate, execute, and evaluate a variety of activities in alignment with individual service plans.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit individual and group needs.
  • Ensure availability of program supplies and manage setup and breakdown of activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to leverage community and center resources for enhancing individual development.
  • Assist with ongoing programming and activities as required.
  • Provide additional program coordination support as necessary.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate individual records and submit reports as per departmental procedures.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to fulfill the mission of the organization.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Support supervisors in training new staff, interns, or volunteers as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications: To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act and related legislation.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and communicate sensitively with individuals of varying abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Criminal Record Clearance is required.
