Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Analyst to join our team at General Dynamics NASSCO. As a key member of our Contracts department, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining databases to oversee the financial health of ongoing ship repair contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date databases to track financial data and identify trends.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize budget allocation and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Planners, and Production Managers to ensure accurate cost projections and scheduling.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including Estimate at Completions (EACs) and cost variance analysis.
  • Assist in the development of business cases and proposals to secure new contracts and projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, or cost analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of contract requirements, including Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial data and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Working Relationships
  • Reports to the Contract Manager and Senior Cost Analysts.
  • Collaborates closely with Program Managers, Planners, Production Managers, Estimators, and NSSA Personnel.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
Accountability
  • Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and data.
  • Responsible for identifying and mitigating cost overruns or underruns, and for recommending cost-saving strategies to stakeholders.
