Role Overview
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) serves as the central bank and comprehensive financial regulator of Singapore.

Core Responsibilities
As a Financial Risk Specialist within the Banking Department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the trading activities of financial institutions and managing associated risks. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the effectiveness of banks' front office controls, risk management strategies, and valuation methodologies, while also providing supervisory guidance to enhance market risk management quality.
  • Identifying systemic risks across the banking sector by analyzing regulatory risk returns and creating risk indicators from supervisory and publicly available data.
  • Investigating innovative risk management techniques and frameworks in response to evolving market conditions.
  • Offering expert consultation on risk analytics, modeling, and valuation practices to various departments within MAS.

Candidate Profile
We are seeking individuals who possess:

  • Experience in front office or market risk management within a financial institution.
  • A strong interest in the dynamics of financial markets.
  • Solid understanding of financial products and their associated risks.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools and software.
  • A curious, analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical information effectively.
  • Relevant certifications in Quantitative Finance or professional qualifications such as CFA, PRM, or FRM are advantageous.

Contract Details
This position is offered on a 1-year contract basis. As part of the selection process, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessments.
