Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will oversee financial operations, accounting practices, and reporting functions. This role requires the ability to meet stringent deadlines while managing a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger management and financial reporting.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; an MBA in Accounting, Business Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare or clinical finance setting is essential; experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) is advantageous.
- At least three years of experience in grants management is preferred.
- Proficiency in financial and accounting software is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise financial accounting processes to ensure accurate documentation and reporting of financial data.
- Maintain internal controls and safeguards for revenue, expenses, and budget management.
- Regularly analyze financial information and prepare timely financial reports; effectively communicate monthly and annual financial statements while keeping the CFO informed of the organization’s financial health.
- Coordinate accounting functions, reports, and data management.
- Conduct financial analyses and generate comprehensive reports.
- Prepare revenue forecasts and expenditure projections.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, as well as reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Support annual audit preparations and address audit findings, discrepancies, and compliance issues.
- Contribute to the enhancement of accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Complete general ledger entries and month-end closing processes.
- Participate in the annual budgeting and planning activities.
- Review financial plans and compare actual results to identify and address variances.
- Assist the CFO in engaging with the board’s audit and finance committees regarding financial trends and operational models.
- Oversee financial, project/program, and grants accounting to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints throughout the funding period.
- Organize financial reporting materials for governmental, corporate, and foundation grants.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting for the organization.
- Collaborate with the CFO to evaluate the financial effectiveness of program operations and establish robust finance and administrative systems.
- Direct the preparation of statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Provide daily oversight and guidance to the Finance Department staff to ensure operational efficiency and promote professional development.
- Engage in meetings with management and departmental staff to discuss financial matters.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain relevant professional affiliations.
