POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Senior Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in collaborating with Portfolio Managers, assisting in the daily responsibilities of credit evaluation and oversight while engaging in analytical tasks to identify potential risks or concerns.

A successful Senior Credit Analyst will possess the ability to draft essential documentation and prepare for credit assessments with minimal guidance from Portfolio Managers.

This role requires a strong understanding of financial and risk analysis, along with proficiency in financial modeling.

The Senior Credit Analyst is expected to develop expertise in the underwriting process, demonstrating the capability to manage the entire underwriting cycle with limited supervision.

Additionally, the Senior Credit Analyst will participate in and support Portfolio Reviews as necessary.

Accountability for risk management is paramount, involving open communication of ideas and concerns, as well as adherence to established policies and procedures.

Commitment to ethical practices is essential, ensuring that actions and behaviors contribute positively to the customer experience.

While operating within the Bank's risk framework, the Senior Credit Analyst achieves objectives by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers in credit assessment and underwriting, executing analytical tasks as required.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and draft necessary documentation.
  • Accurately input credit information into banking systems with minimal errors.
  • Prepare risk-rating scorecards and conduct tickler event analyses, determining actions based on findings in collaboration with Portfolio Managers.
  • Develop risk models and inform Portfolio Managers of any unforeseen challenges that may affect client satisfaction.
  • Identify and establish monitoring analysis activities as needed.
  • Verify compliance with covenants and recommend updates on ticklers.
  • Monitor covenant adherence and track overdue or non-compliant covenants, suggesting appropriate actions.
  • Evaluate covenant compliance reports to assess performance and determine necessary actions.
  • Update financial covenants and calculations as required.
  • Execute Probability of Default (PD) models with oversight.
  • Review completed financial spreads to identify necessary adjustments in collaboration with the Credit Control Unit team.
  • Recommend preliminary portfolio management actions using Credit Service reporting and RADAR with some oversight.
  • Prepare ALSR reports with guidance.
  • Conduct risk and projection modeling with provided assumptions.
  • Complete the underwriting process with limited supervision.
  • Create and finalize a Credit Approval Memo with minimal errors.
  • Review and revise renewals for less complex deals.
  • Conduct portfolio analysis and prepare for Portfolio Reviews in advance of client meetings.
  • Support Portfolio Managers and engage in special projects as assigned.
  • Take appropriate corrective actions to address deficiencies and escalate inquiries or disputes as necessary.
  • May assist in training new team members.
  • May participate in special projects as directed by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Banking.
  • Strong understanding of financial and risk analysis, including the ability to create financial models.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Familiarity with corporate business structures and legal documentation.
  • General awareness of U.S. regulations and government policies.
  • Knowledge of the local or regional market is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in internal banking software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize effective problem-solving and analytical skills while managing multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard office setting with minimal exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations.
Limited travel may be required.
