SERVPRO of North Central Tazewell County is seeking a Construction Accounting Specialist. This full-time, hourly role is ideal for a meticulous individual with expertise in the construction sector. The primary function of this position is to manage and execute all ongoing daily financial operations related to construction projects, including job costing and budget oversight.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and overseeing job costing and budget/cash flow for the department.
  • Ensuring accuracy in subcontractor contract status and billing.
  • Maintaining daily operational records, including labor documentation, equipment usage calculations, consumable tracking, and vendor expenses.
  • Preparing comprehensive budgets and compiling as well as validating all financial reports.
  • Supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Conducting audits of all documentation to guarantee the precision of final billing.
  • Collaborating with external accounting firms on monthly closing procedures.
  • Creating written accounting procedures for the team and ensuring adherence and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in job costing, project budget management, and financial reporting.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Construction Management, General Contracting, or Subcontractor industries is preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance policies is required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing deadlines effectively.
