Business Development Director

Orum Therapeutics is seeking a seasoned business development professional to drive strategic partnerships and out-licensing opportunities for our platform technology and pipeline assets. As a key member of our business development team, you will work closely with our R&D team, functional groups, and external partners to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and close new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute Orum's business development strategy to establish and evolve partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and other industry stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities for out-licensing and partnering, leveraging your expertise in the biopharmaceutical industry and competitive intelligence.
- Partner with our R&D team to explore and evaluate in-licensed or collaborative opportunities that complement our internal research and development efforts.
- Manage cross-functional teams to lead deal processes, structure transactions, and negotiate with prospective partners.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the scientific and asset landscape, as well as competitive intelligence, to ensure visibility to emerging opportunities and changes in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Lead competitive intelligence and positioning exercises to support Orum's partnering and platform/product development efforts.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in life sciences or a related field.
- More than 10 years of experience in scientific research and/or business development within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, or experience in healthcare consulting or investment banking.
- Established network within the pharmaceutical industry, with a demonstrable track record of leveraging existing relationships for successful partnerships.
- In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical deal landscape, including licensing agreements, collaborations, and strategic partnerships.
- Track record of successfully closing transactions and collaboration agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific and business concepts effectively.
- Proven ability to think strategically and identify opportunities that align with Orum's mission and objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive and innovative work culture.
- Executive level presence with an ability to effectively interact and present written and verbal communications.
