Director of Sales Leadership

Pontera is a fintech company on a mission to help people retire better. Our software platform enables retirement savers to get the help they need managing their 401(k) and other retirement plan accounts as part of a personalized strategy by their trusted financial advisor.
We are looking for a seasoned sales leader to join our team as the Director of Sales. As a key member of our go-to-market leadership team, you will be responsible for managing a team of managers responsible for quota carrying functions including Mid-Market and SMB Account Executives and Business Development Reps.
As the Director of Sales, you will draw on your perspective as a seasoned sales leader to set strategy and execute on our growth goals as we pursue our mission of helping investors retire wealthier.
Responsibilities- Responsible for day-to-day hiring, training, coaching & general oversight of your direct reports (this is a full time management, non-quota carrying role).
- Talent acquisition: capable of hiring a team of A-players who immediately raise the bar.
- Talent development: develop your team through 1:1s, coaching sessions and ad-hoc best practices. Train them to exceed quota and make an outsized contribution.
- Talent management: hold your team accountable to high standards of performance. Drive your team to hit quarterly targets through positive and motivational feedback. Take decisive action (i.e. promote top-performers and counsel under-performers out).
- Collaborate with other GTM leaders to drive improvements to overall sales processes.
- Effectively utilize our sales tech stack to ensure operational efficiency and data-driven decisions.
- ~10 years of sales leadership experience, overseeing individual contributors and managers, ideally in tech, wealthtech, or asset management
- Demonstrated track record of top performance
- Superlative leadership skills. A magnet for talent, capable of bringing in and developing bar-raising managers and individual contributors to Pontera.
- Excellent coach and teacher, able to coach tactics while also managing personalities
- Operationally excellent, with an in-depth understanding of metrics, forecasting, and other elements of sales ops & strategy
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with track record of problem solving and bringing proactive solutions to drive team & company performance
- Growth mindset. Constantly looking to learn and improve.
- Compensation: Base Salary $150,000 - $200,000, OTE dependent on experience
