Technical Sales Position Overview
Modern Process Equipment is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Sales Representative to support our team of outside sales engineers in selling capital equipment worldwide to Fortune 500 companies within the coffee, food, chemical, and mineral industries.
This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the bulk handling/process industry and gain valuable sales skills through sales and technical training, occasional travel with outside sales personnel, and industry trade shows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support sales team by assisting with calls and emails, generating budgetary and formal equipment quotes.
- Organize and test various products in our test lab.
- Interface with existing worldwide representatives, industry partners, and customers to organize details and support sales projects.
- Travel to industry trade shows to promote MPE equipment and services.
- Learn product line and sales skills required to succeed in sales.
- Shadow salespeople on calls and appointments to learn industry and sales skills.
- Training program includes technical and field training to gain valuable product knowledge and customer engagement.
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience with 2D and 3D software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Technical education or technical skills and ability to learn the technical product line are must-haves.
- Time management, prioritizing tasks, organizational skills, and attention to details are essential.
- Good communication skills are crucial.
- Excellent team collaboration skills are necessary, as this position will interface with the sales team, customers, engineering, and 15 international rep offices.
