Electrical Operations Manager

Position Overview:
The Electrical Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing a team of electricians to guarantee that the electrical, instrumentation, and computer systems within the facility function efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and direct daily, weekly, and periodic electrical preventative maintenance and repair activities for the facility.
Foster a Safe Work Environment:
Educate team members on safe equipment usage;
inspire employees to achieve exceptional safety standards;
participate in ongoing training and process enhancements; and
demonstrate safety practices through personal conduct.
Oversee the functionality of PLCs, HMIs, and network communications to enhance operational efficiency.
Monitor electrical systems and equipment to reduce unexpected downtimes and pinpoint areas for system improvements.
Ensure that the electrical team's work complies with applicable regulations and standards.
Guide, mentor, and support electrical trainees to facilitate their journey towards obtaining their electrical licenses.
Manage employee attendance and time reporting.
Maintain positive relations with the bargaining unit by adhering to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Regular on-site presence is crucial for fulfilling the outlined responsibilities.
Occasional travel may be necessary.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Recruit, onboard, and oversee the electrical team. Responsible for evaluating the performance of direct reports in alignment with company values and policies.
Provide guidance, coaching, training, and support to foster a high-performing and accountable team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Exceptional interpersonal abilities and a proven capacity to lead a team effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities; ability to think innovatively and devise solutions to complex challenges.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
Provide essential tools for executing routine electrical tasks.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an industrial electrician or possession of a valid electrician's license from states that offer such licensing is preferred.
Familiarity with industrial electrical safety, motor control centers (MCCs), three-phase power, conduit installation, lighting, and electrical schematics.
Knowledge of high voltage systems, powerhouse operations, and energy sales.
Work Environment:
May encounter dust, noise, tripping hazards, and varying temperatures and weather conditions.
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements:
Individuals must be prepared to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Certain positions may require additional PPE at specific times.
Examples of PPE that may be required include high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, hard hats, foot protection, and face shields.
